Ways to Help Navigate Your Wedding in the Age of the Coronavirus
The coronavirus disease has changed the way that we live entirely. We are more cautious, careful, and conscious of our decisions and how they may impact others. Like many areas of life, weddings are a big one that has taken a hit. For those who are madly in love, and have been looking forward to their set wedding date, it can be a tough decision on what to do. Having to wait an entire year, or two can feel astronomical. However, you have to decide that it is best for you, your partner, friends, and family.
If you do decide to continue with your wedding plans, here are some things you may want to keep in mind:
Downsizing
If you originally planned to have a huge wedding, you may want to consider downsizing to something a bit more intimate. Fewer people in the same space provide less of a risk of spreading the disease to one another. You may also find that your priorities have shifted. What once was a non-negotiable for you may not be anymore – size included.
Changing You Venue
Many indoor venues have closed their space to hopeful couples due to the virus. A smart move, as they are unable to provide the right protocols to ensure safety. However, it can be tough, especially if you’ve had a set image of your wedding for a while. However, you may want to consider moving your wedding outside. Maybe you have it in a big backyard, by the beach, etc. Having this outside helps reduce the spread of the virus as there is fresh airflow. As a nice bonus, they can save you a ton on the cost.
Encourage Guests to Wear Masks
If we have learned anything in the last couple of months, it is that when everyone wears masks, it reduces the spread of the disease. Although it may be uncomfortable to wear for a prolonged period, it will bring about a small feeling of ease for you and your guests. If economically possible, perhaps you screen print enough masks for everyone at your wedding with your design, and/or date. A little way to be creative and fun while still ensuring everyone is as safe as possible!
Changing Plans
COVID 19 has impacted us all significantly, and we have had to adapt most assets of our lives. For wedding planning, it may be the case that everything has to be replanned. We understand that dates change, and crucial details may have to change as well. If this is the case, you can order a replacement trunk here. If you’re feeling unsure that your new date will stick, you have the option of leaving it off altogether.
And remember, even though your wedding day may look different from you how you imagined, the main reasons you are getting married haven’t changed. You are still madly in love, and want to spend the rest of your lives together. So adapt, get creative, and be safe!
